Libertine begins where bitter orange does, the marmalade-dark side of citrus drawing you in. Below the surface, cumin turns to dry spice with a sweat-warm edge and beeswax answers as warm wax cut from honeycomb. Toward the top, cognac reads as the mellow fire of cellar-aged brandy and amber as burnished sweetness under dry spice. In the end it is dark and skin-close, an animalic, sweet core anchored by balsamic resins and warm spice.
